Mensa came to Chennai through the initiative of three mensans (Mr. Karthick, Mr. Subramaniam and Mr. Chandan Rajah). Mensa Chennai came into existence on 21st September 2003.

Mensa Chennai consists of around seventy (70) diverse dynamic members.
